Do you often find yourself getting engulfed in fast-paced mysteries? Are you someone who spends your time reflecting on the moralities of individuals and why people are portrayed the way they are? Do you ever question the behaviors of the spirits who observe your every move? If you answered any of the above with an affirmative, Kaylin McFarren's Soul Seeker may just be your perfect next read!

Soul Seeker follows the story of firefighter Benjamin Poe and Crighton, a mysterious figure with glowing green eyes. The book begins with Benjamin Poe being called to investigate a mysterious fire at a hotel, one which he suspects his son was involved in. However, things begin to go south when Crighton appears in the interrogation room and reveals that he knows the dark secrets of everyone observing him. From then on, Poe's life gets drastically worse, from his relationship with his wife to his grip on reality.

This is easily one of the best books I have read. Every aspect of the book was flawlessly delivered and I found myself constantly wanting to know more. I found Poe and Crighton to be intriguing characters and the development of them throughout the novel regularly had me questioning the true basis of what made someone good or bad. The usage of heaven and hell had me deeply questioning my sense of judgement, making me think back on all the times I expressed disappointment in someone else's actions.

Additionally, I loved the romantic aspects of the book. The love between Crighton and his angel was one that played a significant part to his character development. It served as an excellent driving point for Crighton's self improvement and the scenes always contributed to the plot, never coming off as too overwhelming.

There is nothing I dislike about the book. Every line in the book is well-placed and it has left a massive impact on how I perceive both myself and other people. This book was exceptionally well-edited, as I found no grammatical errors. Given everything, this book deserves no less than a 4 out of 4.

Soul Seeker is an excellent novel that has something for everyone. It has the anticipation of a mystery, the thrills of a crime novel, and the feels of a romance. It has the chills of a horror story and the laughs of a comedy. This book is one that all readers can appreciate and I believe that everyone can leave the book with a new outlook on the people around them.

I have seen this book and wondered about it. Thanks to your review I’m going to try it. I can relate to Mr. Poe’s problems, things going badly when you really try to do right.
