What do you do when you are overwhelmed with a whole lot? Where do you go when you just want some peace? How do you spend your lazy days? How do you face your internal crises? Is a job enough to make you feel responsible? Are you more than your job? By what degree can we say that a man is responsible? What matters to us at the end of the day? All these questions and more, you will find a man and his three friends ask. Life never seems to be satisfied with just our minute efforts at living and loving. It wants more. It demands more. It exerts more pressure. From family affairs to workplace pressures and national disasters, life must fix you into a corner. Some choose to cower in fear and refuse to take any decisive action. Others choose to deny the existence of these tough situations and prefer the happy-go-lucky spirit. The rest, either by necessity or whatever, will choose to exert the force of will. Confronting life demands a head-on spirit rather than backing out. The most important is that one chooses to be proactive and not reactive.

Along with the demanding pressures of life is the fear of death and dying. The fear of being insignificant and unnoticed. Would your significant other care if you stopped providing? Would your family care if you stopped living up to their expectations? The problem is not whether one died but how well one lived. The book, Man Mission by the author Eytan Uliel, is about four men, who resolve never to lose themselves and their freedom in the trivialities of life and living. Every few years, they set out on a travel expedition to exotic locations just to slug it with nature. The essence is not just to prove their worth but basically to escape the mundane. In the midst of these, they bond with each other, trade stories, tease, support, comfort, console, and counsel each other. Away from the pressures of family, adulthood, and fatherhood, they take introspective decisions about their individual lives. Call it whatever you want to, but it is more or less a retreat of a few days. For them, it is a personal retreat just to recharge and recommit to the demands of their lives.

There are a lot of positive aspects to this book. First, the plot is beautifully carved, using a travel theme. It teaches us, readers, what to expect if we choose to visit these exotic locations. The reader can relate to the experiences of these travelers. Another thing I found creative was the fact that the characters went through the normal pressures of life. They tried to balance family, work, and national interests, even though they were not at home. There was a certain depth and balance that this brought to the entire plot.

This was an enjoyable read. There was nothing negative about this book. The storyline was captivating, engaging, and entertaining. It is therefore in furtherance of these that I rate this book four out of four stars. It was professionally edited, as I didn't find any errors in the course of reading. It is well worth the effort.

I highly recommend this book to travelers and vacationers, especially amateurs. Get prepared for an adventure!
