Love is a Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield

Post by amybo82 »

Sheffield is a music journalist for Rolling Stone. He grew up making mix tapes and digging into underground music. When he met his soul mate, Renee, he knew his life was complete. After five years of marriage, though, his life fell apart one day when Renee passed away suddenly. This book walks you through Rob's life before, during and after Renee through the mix tapes they shared with each other.

This is one of my top ten books of all time. It is funny, touching, and above all, loving. Even though it centers on death, it's full of a sense of hope. It's going to make you laugh and cry--a lot.

It's for people who love music, understand the awkwardness of growing up, and know what it's like to love and lose. There is something for everyone, and I can't recommend it highly enough!
A book is a dream that you hold in your hand. –Neil Gaiman
