Review of JTs World
The Wild West was one of the most tumultuous times in American History. There were lots of outlaws slinging guns and bullets around everywhere. Bounty hunters made a living out of capturing these people, dead or alive. No self-respecting outlaw would turn himself in willingly, hence many people lost their limbs, eyes and lives. However, a lot of television series romanticize this era and often give wrong information and anticipation.
JT Thomas is a generous cowboy who accidentally comes into an extraordinary amount of wealth. With the help of his love of his life, Annabelle, he seeks to build an empire for them. The only problem is that Annabelle has been murdered by a bloodthirsty husband that she wanted to divorce. Now, he is out in the loose baying for JT’s blood and the latter is not even aware. Consequently, many guns are fired, many heads are blown up and a couple of uncouth words soil the air. And if you think the bullets only fell between men, you are in for a rude shock. JT’s World is the true definition of fast-paced living, ruthlessness and typically hard to find bravery.
This book is a unique tapestry of events and historical occurrences. There are highly graphic scenes that are unbelievable and horrifying. There are lots of scenes with macabre descriptions of brains being blown apart, dead bodies upon more dead bodies, and utter disrespect for women. The book is easy and simple to read, and the energy is fast-paced and lively. You literally read the novel with your heart in your throat for the characters. The characters have a beautiful sense of humor that sort of takes away from the somber events from the book.
It is important to note that this book happens to be a part of a series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but the reader has to deal with a couple of past events being alluded into JT’s World. The story loses some of its flow when these events are mentioned. However, E. Alan Fleischauer tries to make it easier for the reader by expounding on the events more. There are no negative aspects in this book. There are a couple of profane words that really fit with the era in which the story is placed in and the story plot. The novel appears to be exceptionally well-edited, as I came across no errors. I am elated to award this book four out of four stars.
This book is suitable for a mature audience of crime thriller enthusiasts and historical fiction fans. The novel is an educative read, giving us the front row seat into a forgotten culture of generosity and bravery. Although I am very glad that people don’t go slinging guns in public anymore, and they respect women more.
