Review of Midwinter Turns to Spring
We all In one way or another crave a love so deep that it defies all odds. The truth is, it isn't enough to just crave that love, we need to fight for it. Many times we make the mistake of trying to find love. Not knowing, love comes to those who wait, but stays far away from those who go out of their way in the search for it. To get a glimpse of what love truly feels like, open the pages of this wonderful book.
Midwinter Turns to Spring by Maria Veloso is a romance fiction book about love defying all odds. Savannah Curtis was just a young woman in her early twenties pursuing her art career when she met Alfonso Madrigal. Alfonso at the time was a man who was haunted by his childhood. This made him a man who never smiled and was devoid of emotions. This simple meeting between Savannah and Alfonso during one of her seminar bloomed over time into a love so deep and forbidden. All because Savannah was engaged and Alfonso was married and had a daughter named Christina. Upon Savannah's discovery, she ran away, leaving her love behind. Twenty-six years later, they met again, but Savannah had amnesia. What's going to happen to Alfonso? What about their love? Would she remember? Read to find out.
I've never read a book so touching as this, and I love everything about it. This book talks about true love, fate, and sacrifice. Reading this book brought so many emotions I didn't know I could have by just reading a book. I felt loved, felt sad, felt angry, felt desperate, I laughed, I smiled, and even cried. Yeah, it made me cry and yearn for the kind of love shared between Alfonso and Savannah. While reading, there were certain possibilities I thought of. How would this book turn out to be if Alfonso and Savannah were never committed but single? What if Alfonso never had that painting that made him attend the seminar? Would they still have met someplace else? Who knows. Maybe it's Maria's way of playing with my mind.
I disliked nothing about this book. It shared so many lessons and a secret I never knew about. If you asked me, I'll say that I am very grateful for knowing that secret. This wonderful secret is that the greatest and most effective medicine ever known to man is love. If you're in doubt, be my guest, and feel free to read this book. Aside from the love part, another aspect of this book I loved is the artistic nature of it. This book talks about Picasso's great works of art as well as flamenco music. I also wish to listen to flamenco music someday and experience duende.
This amazing book deserves nothing less than a 4 out of 4 stars. This book is exceptionally well edited with no typos and well deserved for my rating. I learned a lot from this book, in aspects of love, art, and music. I recommend it to lovers of romance fiction, those interested in music and art would enjoy this book as well. However, it isn't suitable for the young audience because it contains some erotic scenes.
