While it can feel good to acquire goods and material possessions, storing the growing pile of possessions can soon become burdensome. Clutter takes up space and contributes to an untidy environment. The Pocket Guide to Minimalism by Katy Moeggenberg is a vital tool for keeping one's life free of clutter.

This book of 62 pages provides information on how to handle clutter of different types. This book contains three sections, which include, Minimizing, Organizing, and Maintaining. The author broadly divides material possessions into clothing, paper, art and decorations, sentimental items, and others. These categories are further subdivided into smaller groups. For instance, clothing is further divided into Tops, Long Sleeved Sweaters, Bottoms, Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Undergarments, Underwear, Bras, Lingerie, Socks, Coats, Jackets, Suits, dresses, scarves, swimwear, and so on. The author goes on to explain how these can be well arranged and well maintained. The section which focuses on papers is quite comprehensive as well. It lists a comprehensive array of types of papers and how they can be managed.

I found this book quite helpful. Clutter is often difficult to manage and the acquisition of material things can also be fueled by compulsive shopping habits. The author addresses these and provides logical advice in this book.

I love the simple way in which this book is organized. It testifies to the author's ability to keep things tidy as a minimalist. Although hundreds of items were mentioned throughout the book, they were all well arranged and can easily be found in their subcategories.

My favorite feature of the book is the many helpful advice provided by the author. I found the advice on page 58 really practical because many suffer from an explosion of clutter in their home partly due to acquired items from gifts and souvenirs. However, the author's advice can bring this sort of clutter under control.

Overall, this is a valuable book that can help improve one's quality of life. If followed strictly, the suggestions in the book can promote a tidy and clutter-free home. With the aid of questions, the author aims to help the reader discern and differentiate between items that should be kept or discarded.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is exceptionally well edited. I have no dislikes about it. Its text flows smoothly in simple grammar and it covers a wide array of items that can be potential clutter. People who desire well-arranged homes and spaces will find this book really helpful.
