Seeking … Finding… Healing… by Becky Lu Jackson is a comprehensive manual for overcoming traumatic experiences. Our present day realities are shaped by our prior experiences including fear, anxiety, anger, love, joy and happiness. Many addictions and unhealthy behavioral patterns we exhibit as adults are shaped by our traumatic experiences while growing up, the experiences of our younger selves. But can the trauma of the past can be resolved? This book shares the experiences of the author, who through the unique system described therein found her way to healing. Seeking … Finding… Healing… is a life manual. It offers guidance to meditative techniques for a wholesome healing experience.
Every stage of human development from infancy through adolescence, young adulthood, old age and death is discussed. The book also contains the understanding that our physical form: the body is only one aspect of our being and should be treated as such. All aspects are equally important.
I like this book for two reasons. First, the use of the author’s and/or other people’s life experiences to explain the Inner Family meditation offers a practical guide to readers when attempting to follow the techniques. Second, the author fully acknowledges the spirituality of human existence without engaging in religious rhetoric or dogma which could dilute the message of this book.
My only reservation comes from the fact that the author and other persons whose accounts are contained in this book are all women. I however believe that the meditation and healing techniques of this book are applicable to all regardless of sex or gender.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I have given the highest rating because of the reasons already written above. I also appreciate that it can act as a self-help guide or a manual for conventional therapy.
The book is exceptionally professionally edited. I found no typos or grammatical errors while reviewing it.
