Have you ever wondered if you can fall in love with ones soul without physical contact? E. L Neve takes us through the burning, romantic love story starring two young individuals who find it hard to stay away from each other once meeting in a bakery.

Neil first meets a young, quiet woman at the bakery. Ellie is a regular at the bakery and instantly bonded with Neil over a love of books which gave Ellie the idea of handing Neil her favourite book which she enjoyed the most. Both Neil and Ellie decided to swap email addresses to contact each on and things were going well however they failed to mention to each other they were both tied down in a marriage that neither of them enjoyed and felt lonely. Neil lived with his wife, Fay. The marriage between himself and Fay was dying out respectively but Fay tried her best to hold on to it as much as she could however her feelings about the marriage were pretty much the same. On the other hand, Neil's friend Ellie had a similar situation with her husband, Jake. Ellie and Jake share a son, Johnny and their problems within the marriage seem to affect their son. The relationship between Ellie and Jake was on the rocks and had been for a long time hence Ellie being lonely in the presence of her husband Jake. Jake however found his marriage to Ellie on the subherb of breaking point and from time to time this leads to him taking it out on his wife Ellie. Neil and Ellie found that spending time with each other through technology made them happy again however they knew that if their connection was to be found out by their spouses it would cause great distress to everyone involved. Eventually, both Fay and Jake found out about the mysterious connection between Neil and Ellie and even though they were angry, upset and reeling over the revelation they were somewhat happy because their other halves have found happiness. Both Jake and Fay decided to find other relationships in the hope that they too find happiness.

Looking Through Glass is a romance that sees two individuals drawn together through the love of books. It sees them grow as a pair from strangers to love interests. As a reader, this would not be a book that I would choose to pick up however by the second page I was obsessed. I enjoyed how the reader did not settle the focus on the main characters but also shifted the focus gently on the impact their affection has on their current marriages. The author of this book has created characters that fit the purpose and do the story justice. The characters have simple lives and are easy to relate to.

It is quite a rare instance for me to pick up a book and read it and not be able to pull any parts where I felt a dislike. This book fits into that rare category as much as I wanted to find something to comment on I just could not find anything. I feel that the author could have extended her detail of the blossoming relationship between Neil and Ellie however this is just a recommendation and not a comment that suggests I did not like the book. I do believe that this book is of professional standard and very well professionally edited.

E. L. Neve pens this book with great book and aspirations. I did find that parts of the book can be slow timing however this helps blend the book as a whole as it binds the whole story nicely and captures the many scenes. I think this book deserves a 4 out of 4 stars. My justification for this rating is the book itself is professionally edited and provides a defined plot that is fit for the characters the author has created. The characters she has created are unique and developed to a standard that you feel you can engage with them. I did find that some scenes were intimate however these were very limited and were not erotic or extreme. I would recommend this book to adults who enjoy the romance genre. I believe this book could have the potential to be turned into a movie and I will be waiting for that.
