ARA Review by Acacia Warmerdam of Roan

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

This book would be awesome for all ages! ESPECIALLY those who love to lose their minds in a new world.

I happen to live on lake Michigan, so this was even more fun to read for me and I am having a hard time not spoiling! Along with all the Irish folklore since I am also Irish and also part native American even though Conner is a man, I found myself being him for the while story, and that doesn't happen often.

I like getting to know a character so the pace at the beginning was nice for me and there is so many unknowns in your youth especially for our hero so getting to know him was heartbreaking and heartwarming somehow.
I again found myself in the hero's shoes and rooting for him at all costs. That and I love stories where there are always friends to help when you need it the most! How can you not love the stories of true friendship?

I love poems and short stories so this was like a gem I couldn't believe I found.
It has some romance but not enough to stop me from reading it to my kids. 10/10 would recommend!
In fact, I paused my review and took a rainy day to read it to my eight-year-old, who said that of all things she loved the spooky feel and all the creatures that she could picture perfectly.

Cannot wait for the second book and will defiantly be buying in paperback to have on my shelves at home!
