Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a nonfiction, written as a guide to prepare people for retirement. In this book, the author opens to the reader his vast knowledge on the subject of finance, focusing on the immense importance of having a retirement plan that exceeds saving and investing. The author also deals with important concepts such as; insurance, income, carrier assessment, retirement planning, social security benefit, investment, and much more. Furthermore, the author writes extensively on accident and disability, the difficulties that comes with it, and how to properly plan and prepare for it.
I loved a lot of things in this book, first of which is the author’s sense of humor. For a nonfiction, he did an excellent job holding the attention of the reader. Another thing I loved about this book is the fact that the numbers didn’t bore me, it was explained in such a way that the reader could easily understand. Also, the use of graphs and statistics added a professional touch to the book. From the pages of this amazing work, you can tell that the writer is experienced on the subject of retirement, and knowledgeable on the subject of finance planning, which puts him in an excellent position to teach both subjects. I also loved how the author taught on the value of money and wills. Another very important pro of this book is the additional resource materials provided by the author. The author guides the reader to do a proper self-assessment which helps the reader realize what stage he or she is at, as well as the degree of effort required to achieve a comfortable retirement. Finally, that the author designed this book to help different classes of people is a pro I cannot overlook. He designed the book to accommodate the old, already in retirement and the young adult still at the peak of life. Everyone who reads this educative work, would most likely realize the next step to take.
I did not find anything I did not like in this book. It was brief, straight to the point and informative. Plus, the writer’s sense of humor made it a page turner.
My rating of this book is "4 out of 4 stars". This is because I believe it was professionally edited as I found no error in it. It was also educative and enlightening.
I recommend it to all income earners both old and young. For the young, it will give you an advantage, since there is an opportunity to plan ahead the right way. For the old, it will give you knowledge to re-strategize and enable you maximize your retirement by making a better plan.
