ARA Review by Jamsoulsinger of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

“Where can I find a man who has forgotten words, so I can have a word with him?” That’s an interesting part of a quote by Chuang Tzu.

Self-discipline and spiritual freedom are synonymous terms; they mean the exact same thing.

Imagine yourself as an alien in a spaceship orbiting Earth watching this horror show, many innocent children starving to death on one side of this immature planet, while nuclear bombs explode over civilian-filled cities on another side annihilating thousands and thousands of entire families. My reaction is that I’m pretty sure aliens are watching this. Humans could always afford war that kills multiple children over starving children.

The author noted that a racist may—as ridiculous as it seems to the rest of us—display more sympathy towards someone who has a skin tone closer to their own. I add that they would to be like that in order to engage in white supremacy they need comradery to be emboldened to reign supreme over the “race” they are subjugating.

Anyway, I'm reminded that it is more logical to say that the spirit simply does not want. It enjoys the truth itself. It enjoys reality itself. It enjoys, period.

That I do seem to have choice. You are an author of eternal reality, not of the past, but in your present. The world would be different without you, the real you. You have influence. The existence of consciousness—the real you—influences the unfolding of events in all subjective timelines and thus also helps determine the nature of timeless eternal reality as a whole. The inner peace of spiritual freedom is revealed in part by the surrender to truth. These were among the deepest realizations written in this book.

I like this quote, one of the most powerful in this book, “Time is a spiritual teacher, brutal but effective. There are no gatekeepers for eyes-closed truths."

And another: "You are not your money. You are not your degrees or certificates. You are not your job…"

The only criticism I have is that I would have liked to see greater cohesion between the chapters which would’ve revealed the connections between them. I think this is a good book worth reading over and over again. It’s there to give you spiritual freedom and to help you find truth.
