Review of Reconfigurement
[Following is a volunteer review of "Reconfigurement" by E. Alan Fleischauer.]
Many of us think a whole lot about work, getting married, and being comfortable while working. This is a very nice and important thing to do. However, we must ask ourselves if we have taken much time to specifically plan for doing so. Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that talks about plans to make before retirement and also ensures that you get the best after retirement.
The first chapter of the book is more of an introduction. The next chapter stresses a lot about the importance of income. It is the first thing to be considered when making plans. The source of income, current income, projected income, current source of income, and future projected sources of income are all to be examined. The third chapter deals with assessment. Assessment in this case is more economically inclined. Assessments like "Career Aptitude Assessment" and "Work Values Assessment" are talked about. Many other important economic, financial, and healthcare plans are talked about in this book.
I love this book. As a young entrepreneur and student, I have committed to reading self-help books that will properly guide me through my life. I have found out that most people have their lives turned upside down because of a lack of planning or poor planning. I do not intend to make the same mistake as such people. That is why I like this book. Older working-class people might be more inclined towards this book, but I argue that it is suitable for every working person or anyone intending to work. It does not only teach about retirement; it teaches about setting up the right plan for work and enjoying work.
What I disliked about the book was that it was not simplified to accommodate lots of people who are not too conversant with financial and economic concepts. For example, as a medical student, I did not have any idea about the assessment tests and many other terms in the book, and the way it was written did not make it easy for me to understand at first. I had to concentrate more and read extensively to finally understand everything properly.
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer was professionally edited. I found a few errors. This book covers a whole lot of the important things every individual has to plan for. I am rating it 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to workers and those that intend to plan for retirement.
