Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
The stories of kingdoms and kings are usually interesting tales to many as kingdoms are not common in this days. This book is about a thrilling story of a kingdom known as Voulhire. Voulhire was founded by Saint Idus, who was also the first king of Voulhire. Many years later, there arose another king known as King Wilhelm who was looked upon by the people of Voulhire as an icon of success. Voulhire was a kingdom made up of many cities and each city assigned to a lord as a ruler, the king being the overall leader.
Lord Eldus was a leader in one of the cities in Voulhire. One day he received a threatening message which really frightened him as the letter pointed out that he was to be killed as a revenge to their king's actions. Soon, an army came dancing, fully prepared to attack the city. When Lord Eldus realized that the enemies were Riva Rohavi, he send soldiers to alarm the city as the Rohavians were greatly feared. His attempt to call for help failed and his soldiers tried to protect the city with no success. The Rohavians destroyed the city and killed innocent people. The big question is, why were the Rohavians angry with the Voulhire? Another question is were there no other better way to solve the problem rather than killing innocent people? Well, if you are also asking the same questions then grab the book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz to find out why.
I love the use of dialogue in the book as it makes the story more dramatical. The author has a lot of skills in writing and I love how he used vivid description as I would visualize what I was reading. I would visualize Lord Eldus asking the children a question and one or two of them looked like they were about to raise their hands but withdrew them to put some more thought into it. This skill made the book fun to read. I also loved how the author went ahead and gave the meaning of the difficult and strange words in the book at the end of the book it made me to understand the story even better.
There was nothing I disliked about the book. Although it had many use of vulgar words, I did not find them disturbing and they did not hinder the flow of the story.
The book deserve a rating of four out of four stars because it is so interesting and the author portlays so many skills in writing. Moreover, the book is professionally edited.
Fun readers need to grab this book. I would also recommend it to film makers as it can be a great script for acting a movie.
