Review of Ivan's Captive Submissive by Ann Mayburn (Erotic)

Post by Wolfie808 »

The book is titled Ivan's Captive Submissive by Ann Mayburn. The book's genre is Erotic and has many BDSM elements. There is also some brief F/F though most of the book is M/F. If you don't like these type of things in a book, than I suggest you do not read it.

The story is about a woman named Gia who is being bid on in an auction called "Submissive's Wish Charity Auction". All the women and men who are being bid on completes a list of what their fantasies are and what their preference is. The bidders than read these lists and if its something they wish to fulfill, they will bid on the person they want. The proceeds from the auction goes to a charity of the persons choice and 10% of what they are won for goes directly to the person.

Gia is won at auction by Ivan for a hefty sum and her fantasies are brought to life right away. Though she is asked over and over what her safe word is, she gets so engaged into the role that she forgets its her fantasy so there is some tension at first till it gets clarified. When it does, things go by a lot smoother between the two of them and though none of them planned it, they start to develop feelings for each other.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and it reminded me of a lot I've things I've read before or experienced in some way. There are quite a bit of grammar errors that had me stop and re-read a sentence but not bad. Some Russian words are used in here (the male lead Ivan is Russian) and they don't get clarified what they mean till later into the story. There is also quite a bit of sex so if you don't like a lot of it in a book, perhaps this book is not for you.
