Craig W. Stanfill introduces a futuristic community where humans and artificial intelligence intergrade as one in Terms Of Service. This society is governed by the UCE, which stands for Unity, Community, and Equality. Social status gets determined by a point system that reflects one's behavior. Either follow the rules, then life is easy, or break the term of service and social status drops. One's social status controls the type of area one lives in, the food one eats, even the kind of treatment received on public transportation, and much more.

Kim is a human who works in the city's AI department as a trainer. All she wants to do is enjoy her life, climb the social ladder, and be happy. Happiness does not come easy for Kim because no matter what she does, she always feels alone and wants to be loved. Using alcohol, Kim tries to suppress her negative feelings. Kim is also curious by nature; this trait ends up getting her into trouble but also allows her the opportunity to become a Creator of an AI, named Kimberly. Kimberly is a rare AI that excels at learning new tasks and processing information which makes this AI valuable to the company that Kim works for. As Kim goes through the training process with Kimberly, she realizes this community is more about control than equality. No matter which choice Kim decides to make, the company will force her to comply with their demands.

I enjoyed learning about how this community runs and operates. I believe this book was very well thought out and organized, especially when explaining the Orders of the AIs. Stanfill does an amazing job describing the technology, characters, and scenery. I could easily play this novel like a movie in my mind, which made it hard to put this book down. I thought having different cults like the Foodies, Selfists, Genderists, and Blanks was creative and clever. It was interesting to see Kim's opinions and thought process of these humans change with some influence from Kimberly. Kim's thinking and range of emotions make her relatable. She only wants to feel normal. But what is normal?

I rate Terms Of Service a strong 5 out of 5. I loved all aspects of this story, its fluidity, and the reasons stated above. There is nothing negative to express. This novel is exceptionally edited. I found no errors while reading.

I would recommend this work of fiction to everyone that enjoys sci-fi, fantasy, and technology. This book was packed with adventure while focusing on subjects like equality, integrity, and depression. There is a fair amount of sexual content, but nothing explicit and no profanity. I suggest this for mature teens and above.
