In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a philosophical, thought-provoking gem, glistening in the sea of questions. This book allows you, the reader, from any origin or walk of life to look not only at yourself differently, but every human being you encounter differently. It provides guidance to the reader to see the world through the eyes of your inner most vulnerable workings. It challenges you to question your ego, to look within and search for the soul that is your true self. It encourages the reader to look at the rawness of humankind. It suggests that all humans alike have the desire to fill a void by chasing an unattainable goal whether it be greener pastures, wealth, or fitness. And in doing so, we continue to yearn for more, never satisfying the desire. Only by finding the peace within can we ever truly find contentment.

Eckhart Aurelius Hughes encourages the reader to think deeper, on a level most have rarely, if ever, visited. He does not demand, dictate, or pressure anyone to obey a certain way of thinking, living, or loving. He only provides suggestions that encompass all of humankind to see the similarities in each of us, that as a species we can all learn, grow and choose to find a peacefulness inside ourselves that was not there before. I loved reading this book because it is boldly written with clear intentions. It provides a guide for those, like me, who often find themselves drifting in a sea of questions.

The only aspect I did not like or enjoy about this book was the repetition of ideas. Similar thoughts were repeated throughout this book, but after reading it in its entirety I understand that the author was getting his point through to his readers by reiterating them.

I rate this book five out of five stars. It was concisely written and professionally edited. It has a profound meaning and Eckhart Aurelius Hughes intended for the reader to feel united with the author. It’s as though your own thoughts as a reader are channeled through Eckhart Aurelius Hughes himself.

I recommend and encourage any individual who is questioning life, love, and peace to read this book. Open this book and gaze upon the scripture with careful, thought-provoking insight for all humankind. Look deeper than the surface. If you are questioning how to find yourself, or what will truly make you happy, I recommend you read this book. If you are looking for someone to tell you how to live your life or give you definitive directions, this book is not for you. It does not give you the answers to any questions but provides suggestions on how you can find the answers within yourself.
