The novel We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under the Great Skies by Matthew Tysz follows a man named Galen Bray who is from a land called the land of the princes, where if you are not rich or contributing to the economy in some way it is "death by the sword or starvation". When Galen learns of his uncle's inheritance, he travels to Voulhire, a country ruled by a wise king named Wilheim, in search of a better life. The novel's focus is Meldorath, who is presumed dead, but not everyone believes this. As a result, it is up to Lord Eldus to unravel the mystery.

I enjoyed the story's concept, and the way it was told left me wanting more. Right from the start, I was sucked into this incredible journey. I also liked how the book was told from different points of view because it helped me understand the characters and get to know their various personalities. I liked how descriptive the author is and how particular he is about even the smallest details.

I also appreciated the author's inclusion of a character list at the beginning of the book; it made it much easier to remember who the various characters were. I also liked looking at the map because it helped me visualize where the story was taking place, and it felt like I was traveling with them.

The only thing I did not like about the book was that I found it slow-paced. Aside from that, I thought it was unique and enjoyed how the author described the world, history, and culture. I loved the mystery surrounding Meldorath, the action in the novel, and the way the author depicted the fight scenes. The plot was also simple and straightforward. A reference guide for "newcomers to Voulhire" is also included at the end of the book, which I found extremely useful.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This is because, as I previously stated, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and its uniqueness, I was instantly sucked in. The book has been professionally edited, and I found no spelling errors. There are some curse words, but this did not bother me. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it really helped me unwind and escape the real world. I recommend this book to fans of fantasy, magic, mystery, and medieval fiction.
