Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is a book that encourages children to respect animals. It is a fun-filled piece, and it has excellently illustrated scenes and characters.

Mom had been selected to be part of a cooking competition. On her way to the venue, her special cheese was stolen by a rival. Inca, the cat detective, and her team can sort this out. However, this is only one of the adventures and mysteries they will encounter. What else lies in the Korean Peninsula? Find out by reading this book.

One interesting thing about this book was the diction. I felt the words used were very suitable for children, the target audience. The pictures used in the book also helped to sustain my attention. I can imagine that it will be the same for children. The author successfully captured my interest with the beautiful pictures. Also, the book had conversations that were easy to understand.

Another interesting thing about the book was the lesson it taught. There is always a reward for hard work. An example of this was the joyous celebration after the successful journey to the Korean Peninsula. The celebration was done with cakes, croissants, shortbreads, and other interesting items. When people undergo a challenge, it is important to reward themselves. Also, using these exciting edibles was fun to read about.

Some paragraphs seemed lengthy. Since kids easily get distracted, I felt that they could have been shorter. My rating for this book is 5 out of 5 stars. Even though I found a drawback in the book, I loved the execution of the plot. It was easy to understand. This book was perfectly edited. I did not encounter any errors in it.

I recommend this book to teachers, storytellers, and young readers. The book will help to build their vocabulary. Also, they will find this book fun to read.
