In Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, the eighth installment in the Inca Cat Series by R.F. Kristi, the Siberian kitty Inca and her family embark on a thrilling adventure in South Korea. The story follows Missy, Inca's mother, as she travels to the country to present her new cheese at a cooking competition hosted by Cordon Bleu Cookery. As judges, Missy and her feline family find themselves embroiled in a risky mission to reunite a divided family by crossing the border between North and South Korea.

One of the things that stood out to me most while reading the book was the way the author balanced portraying difficult incidents with ultimately reaching a hopeful conclusion. One particular moment that really stuck with me was the theft of Missy's special cheese as they landed in Seoul. This event really made me feel a range of emotions and showed me just how much I had come to care about Missy and their journey. I appreciate how the author was able to tell a compelling story that included challenges but still managed to end on a positive note.

In Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi, readers are introduced to the Inca Cat Detective series with a standalone story that is engaging and educational. The writing style is well suited for young readers, and the illustrations help bring the story to life.

The book also includes interesting facts about Korean culture and traditions, making it a valuable resource for anyone planning a trip to the Korean Peninsula. As someone who had not previously read any of the Inca Cat Detective books, I found the included family tree to be a helpful tool in understanding the characters. Overall, I enjoyed the way Inca and her team worked together to assist Bo-Ming and Baram and resolve the conflict without the intervention of the humanoids.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. The book was also exceptionally edited. Therefore, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to every reader who enjoys reading kid's stories and to every kid between the ages of 5 and 12.
