Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about planning ahead. Alan is a certified financial planner and advisor with over 35 years of experience in this field. In this book, he talks about financial intelligence and retirement planning. According to him, the average American's life expectancy has increased by 30 years since the 1940s. As such, a pension plan that used to work is less effective today.

In this well-researched and informative book, he discussed a revolutionary approach to retirement planning that he called Reconfigurement. Alan discussed frameworks and policies on financial planning available to US citizens, of which many need to be made aware. He delved into subjects such as different types of insurance, investments, income, budgeting, financial policies, and how to make the most of each. Read the book for more details.

This book has many positive aspects; I don't know which to highlight and which to leave out. Let me start by addressing the issue of the ideal reader for this book. It is stated that ideal readers are people in their 40s and 50s; I beg to differ. The ideal reader should include anyone at the start of their career. The information in this book will benefit anyone who intends to make intelligent financial decisions and plan for a rich and rewarding life.

I learned much more from this 108-page book than from taking finance management courses. It is packed with so much information for the reader. I also like that Alan included disclaimers and asked the reader to seek professional advice on some subjects discussed in this book. The information given on these topics only serves as an eye-opener. He also gave insightful recommendations should readers wish to delve deeper into any subject discussed. Although these policies do not apply to readers outside the US, this book will open your eyes to insights about financial education. These insights will transform your thinking on the subject. You will be more aware of the intricacies of making better financial decisions and be equipped to ask the right questions to the proper authorities in your country.

It is worth mentioning that this book is written in a simple and short style but packed with lots of information. The book is not boring, even though it deals with a serious topic like financial planning, which would be expected to be full of numbers and complicated grammar. The author kept it simple with sprinkles of humor here and there. I giggled and flapped pages before I realized I had almost finished the book. Except for one minor error I encountered while reading this book, it is well-written and professionally edited. For that reason and because I totally enjoyed reading it, I rate Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer a 5 out of 5 stars.

People studying finance and management will find the information in this book helpful. In addition, young people at the beginning of their careers should also read this book. Older folks planning for retirement need to read this book. Anyone who cares about financial planning and policies will find this book valuable.
