The book Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill is about a futuristic, dystopian society and is centered around a character named Kim who is an Artificial Intelligence trainer. The reader follows along as Kim learns more about herself, her past and her free will as she learns more about the virtual entities surrounding her.

There are many things I find great about this book. This book contains phenomenal imagery and character development. It sparks compassion and inspires thought in the reader. I did not find any typos or grammatical errors, as it seemed well edited. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book from start to finish. The writing style is excellent, and captured my attention from the first page. One thing I particularly enjoyed about this book was that the author includes a note at the end inspiring you to think about the deeper meanings behind some of the major themes, and to investigate where those themes are present in modern day society.

The only negative I can really ascertain from this book, is not even truly a negative. The author uses “she” to describe both males and females, and explains so at the beginning. This is a concept that fits in line with the storyline and deeper meaning behind some of the conflict brought forth by the suppression of individuals’ self expression. However, it makes it hard to mentally configure a picture of what some of the characters look like while reading the book. I would be reading about a character, with a mental image associated with that character, then later they would be described and my mental image would be way off.

I did not find any vulgar or profane words in this book. It did, however, contain some religious themes as well as some mild sexual content. The sexual content was minor, but may make the book suitable only for young adults and adults.

Overall, this book was excellent and I would actually like to read the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend it! I rate this book 4 out of 5!
