Review of JTs World
JTs World by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about a protagonist by the name JT. Thomas. He had amassed wealth while in the Rocky Mountains which had led him to build JT's World which had bars, a theatre, a bowling alley and a Ferris wheel. JT was looking forward to the grand opening of his amusement park when all hell broke loose. A series of murders happened in the bowling alley and the tavern. Mika Shipley was dead and her husband blamed it on Billy Barnet since they had been having an affair. The two men ended up killing each other. Marcus Payne was the one who had killed Mika thinking that it was her daughter Madeline. Marcus had travelled to kill JT and Madeline so that he would inherit everything that JT. Thomas owned. He was also fueled by revenge since Madeline had betrayed him at the trial offering proof that he had murdered Annabelle her mother. JT was devastated and he retreated to his ranch with Madeline after the murders. During his stay at the ranch, he was persuaded to go to Colorado to pick up cattle for the ranch to take his mind off JT's World.
The book is intriguing and i could not stop reading it. The author takes us through the adventures JT. Thomas went through in pursuit of cattle for his ranch. There was use imagery which gave life to the words which were authentic. A positive aspect about the book is that the author enlightened the readers about the western culture. Mode of transport used by characters in the story was horses. There was mention of a lot of heat that engulfed the characters such that they needed to stop to have cold beers and wash up. Their horses were also watered and washed due to the heat. JT travelled with cowboys who tended to the cattle and did much of their work on horseback. The theme of violence was eminent in the book as JT killed each and every outlaw and criminal that crossed his path. The book had a lot of twists and turns that made it more enjoyable to read.
There was no negative aspect about the book. The only concern i had when reading the book is that the author swayed the story in different directions. At one point, the author was talking about Jessica's life as a child and then went on to talk about Chip's childhood and onto Aaron's story while still talking about JT's adventures. It took me a while to register these stories and not get confused and i had to go back to the previous pages to get a hang on the direction the book was taking.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because the plot was well developed and the book was professionally edited. The book was so interesting that it always had me at the edge of my seat as to what would happen next. The characters in the book had different stories to tell. I honestly did not dislike anything about the book.
I would recommend this book to young adults and also lovers of adventures. This is because the book contains a lot of violence which may not be suitable for a younger audience. This book will intrigue adventure lovers as there were a lot of twists and turns in the book.
