It was indeed a good decision by Berrah to take up the mantle and begin the process of freeing Algeria from the grips of colonial rule. A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a book that introduces anyone who comes across it to how a man felt that it was high time the people of Algeria became free from the grips of their colonial masters.

Just as one acquires the qualities of a citizen of a country either through birth, marriage, or living in the country for a specific amount of years, Berrah’s own was by birth. He was born in Algeria. It was evident that this was the major push for him, as he had already witnessed what it means to be colonized, and so it was easy for him to take up the mantle and begin to prepare for the liberty of his people. He, even after getting the opportunity to continue his studies abroad, never forgot his main objective, and while abroad, he and many other students who are also like him and who have the same knowledge and reasoning as him formed a union meant to help get Algeria out of slavery. I’m sure you are wondering how this man was able to do all these things. You might also want to know the pros and cons of making this work. Just get your own copy of this book and read it for yourself.

It was mind-blowing to have read this book, to be honest. Truth be told, I enjoyed everything about this book. Many people did not have the strength to face anything like harassment or disgrace; however, the case was different for Berrah. It was so fulfilling to read about how he faced all these humiliating situations and never slowed his fight. I learned from that, and I’ve decided to also do the same thing and face whatever humiliating situations come my way whenever I decide to achieve something great, not for my sake alone but for the sake of those that will also benefit from whatever I’m doing or fighting for. I also like the backings given to him by his mom. Coming from a family where no one supports me, this really made me very emotional as I have not gotten such support since I turned 18. However, with this, I will not relent, and I will keep on struggling even without any parental support. This book is one in a million, and I appreciate the author.

There is nothing I hate about the book, and there is nothing wrong with the book. The author, the story, and the lessons in it were unforgettable. I very much enjoyed the book. The only thing about this book that made it seem off is the errors I found in it; they did not make my reading go bad, but I could note those errors.

The book was professionally edited, as the errors were notable. I will not do without giving the book a rating of five out of five stars because there is no reason for me to deduct the rating.

I recommend the book to any reader who would like to read about the history of Berrah. Just as I learned from his history, the reader will also learn after reading the book.
