Review of Final Notice
Vince and Trudi Fuller, the protagonists of this story, are a retired older couple living in Pasadena, California. When the NRA announces that senior citizens are now permitted to own firearms for their safety, Vince can't help but wonder if the bully would have pushed him down the other day if he knew Vince was carrying a firearm. According to the NRA officials, crime rates would be lower if seniors carried their firearms in plain sight. When he hears about a shooting that left 12 people dead in a nursing home, it cements the idea of owning a gun more firmly in Vince’s mind, causing him to carry out more research on the matter. Meanwhile, Vijay Patel, a scientist, has recently created what might be the greatest invention ever made: a watch that can predict a person's death 30 days in advance. Now that it is legal for senior citizens to own firearms, one can only picture the havoc that will unfold when you have remorse, a death notice, and a gun.
While highlighting the reality that regret and fury are powerful motivators when it comes to acting recklessly and dangerously, the author questioned the notions of life and death. The author was able to tie up all the loose ends without the finale feeling hurried, and the narrative was precisely timed. There was a thrill component to this book as well. It was easy to gradually become drawn into the story as the storyline advanced because the author used a typical marriage to lead readers through a complicated series of issues at the beginning of the book.
The idea of this book is captivating and undeniably possible considering the advancements in modern health and technology, despite the fact that it is purely hypothetical. It was astonishing how creatively the author centered his work on the social and political issues currently afflicting the United States of America. This tactic gave Van Fleisher's work credibility. The situations that the characters found themselves in were entirely believable because the characters had undergone substantial character development. The book was interesting, relevant, and very straightforward to read. Van Fleisher had a fascinating writing style, and his use of descriptive language helped to make the story come to life.
Due to the relevant conflict, satisfying climax, intriguing setting, numerous viewpoints, and the development of compelling characters, I believe that this book deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. This well-edited book was also error-free.
I would recommend Final Notice to readers who enjoy reading thrillers that are centered on controversial issues. I believe that this book is relevant to all mature readers, regardless of their political beliefs, as it brings a refreshing perspective to a very real issue.
