E. Alan Fleischauer has been a financial advisor for more than two decades. He decided to put his expertise and experience into a comprehensive book named Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life at Any Stage and Planning Ahead.

I usually don't choose books that deal with topics like money and such institutions. However, I must admit that I needed a book about handling finances, and I am glad that I chose this book to review. So, if you are like me and have no clue how to handle money and plan for retirement, then you should pick up a copy too. We have been taught to work more, spend less, and save as much as we can. We have been taught that this is the only way we will be financially secure. However, the author challenges such norms in the book. The author believes in finding a balance between reality and tradition.

The book begins by talking about what is meant by "reconfigurement planning." The first chapter also deals with what we can expect from the book as a whole. It then discusses budgeting, financial assessment, and career development. I learned a lot of new things, including my career aptitude and work value. These were some of the things that I had never thought about before. I had fun trying to assess my career. We all must have taken an aptitude assessment to figure out which career we should choose, but we have never taken a career assessment to plan our finances and life.

My favourite thing about the book is that it is helpful for everyone, regardless of their social status, age, career, etc. There is something useful for everyone. The author made me think about things I had never considered before. For example, while thinking about retirement, we may think about the place we want to retire to or the age we want to retire at. But we never think about our possible lifespan. We don't think about the age at which we might die, even though that also plays an important role in financial planning for retirement. The author made us assess our current and future lives for effective reconfiguration planning. The book seems exceptionally edited. I could not find any grammatical errors.

There are no mention-worthy negatives that I could find in the book. Truth be told, I don't know how good of a financial advisor he is. I don't know about the technical aspects of finance and planning, but the book helped a beginner like me.

I will give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I could not find a single negative point that would warrant a deduction of a star. I will recommend this book to any and every adult. The book offers abundant information that is extremely helpful for beginners like me.
