Review of Always Strive to Be a Better You
"If you are capable of doing it once, you are capable of doing it a thousand times". These are words written by Pete Hall in his book, Always Strive to Be a Better You. In his book, he shares tips on how to live a successful and impactful life. Being impactful means coming through for others as well. It also has to do with supporting others to become a better version of themselves. In the book, Pete Hall converses with different successful people. We get to hear things from their perspective. We get to learn about their life stories and their journey to success. Through their stories, I got to learn lessons.
Tammy Campbell is one person whose journey I get to understand. She does not view her limitations as hinderances. She chooses to view them as challenges she can overcome. Her positive attitude towards life got her to where she is today. She insists on having a clear goal and working towards it without being distracted. In the book, the author explains how thoughts can have an impact on how our lives turn out to be. He gives a story of a man named Boby Wainwright, who worked in the graveyard. One day, he locked himself in a refrigerated car. He was convinced that he would die. He even wrote a farewell note to his wife. It wasn't long before he died. After his death, the car was checked. It was discovered that the refrigerator was off, so there was no way it would cause human death. Through Boby's story, we get to understand how powerful thoughts can be. How we perceive things is how they eventually turn out to be.
One thing I love about this book is that there is so much to learn from it. The fact that the author uses real-life examples made it so easy for me to relate. The use of rhetorical questions helped me do a self-analysis. I got to look at life differently, and I realized how much power I have over my future. I loved the use of quotes as well.
There is only one thing I disliked about this book. The author used foreign words, a few of which were left uninterpreted.
The book was well-written. I only came across very few typos. The author uses simple grammar, which is easy to understand. He also uses charts for elaboration. The book was very educative. I got to learn so much. The stories in the book made it quite interesting. It was professionally edited. I would therefore rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is discouraged in life. Anyone who has made mistakes in the past and is unable to move on from them. Those who want to lead a successful and impactful life can learn many lessons from the book.
