I'm new to this site so please be patient with me.

I found this book at the GoodWill (where I get most of my books not on my Kindle) and grabbed it for some light reading. I don't typically read Young Adult but all the choices out there I'm starting to enjoy some of them. I guess it's a nice escape from the adult world. :)

This book was cute. That's the best way to describe it. A middle school troublemaker accidentally gets sent to a gifted academy for children with above average IQs. No surprises and the ending was predictable but what I liked about it the most was each chapter was told by a different person so you could watch the story through the eyes of everyone involved.

I"m not going to spoil anything, I can't stand reading a review that gets so specific there's no reason to read the book. Spoilers are the worst. :(

When I was younger I attended a school for gifted children so I could relate to the "geniuses" and to the "normal" kids as well. Stereotyping was strong but it was written in a way that it wasn't insulting and had me laughing a few times.

I rated it 4 stars on Goodreads (I only give a 5 if I am completely blown away) and would recommend others read it if you want a quick laugh with a predictable ending.

The different perspectives is what I like about Rick Riordan's Hero's of Olympus series. It's centered around teens that have a Roman/Greek god as a parent. Each characters has a different way of thinking and it's always great to see how other characters look in their eyes. Any supernatural themes in that novel? I don't want to google it in case I come across spoilers, haha.

YA books tend to be predictable, considering the target audience. I suppose us with much more reading experience need more complex materials if we truly want plot twists, lol.

No supernatural themes. Just 8th graders being 8th graders. Smart vs Normal. :geek:

Still seems intriguing. Reminds me of "The War Between Classes" that deals with status and what not. I'll keep this title in mind!
