Review: Night of the Howling Dogs

Post by Celtic_Princess »

Night of the Howling Dogs is a book by Graham Salisbury.
The story is placed on the Big Island of Hawaii in November of 1975. It is based off of what happened to Boy Scout Troop 77 from Hilo when they went on a camping trip to a beach called Halape.
After reading Night of the Howling Dogs I had a new respect for Troop 77. I had heard the history of this long before reading the book, however I didn't understand the severity of what these boys had gone through to survive.
Salisbury told the story in such a way that I felt as though I was reading about people I had known my whole life. It has strongly defined characters with a wonderful plot line, and a history told like never before.
I highly recommended this book, as long as you're not afraid of the threat nature can pose.
