Perfect 40! by Lana Shabdeen is a non-fiction book aimed at women in their 40s or approaching 40. The book delves into the fears, emotions, and physical changes women experience during this phase of life. The author was inspired to write this book because she felt isolated in her fear and couldn't find the answers she sought.

In the book, Lana shares her experiences as she approaches age 40 and the quest for answers that led her to write this book. She discusses the fears some women may encounter as they draw closer to this milestone. One of the key messages she conveys is that age is just a number, and at 40, women are free to be themselves, explore their interests, and not feel obligated to keep up with trends. The book also emphasizes the importance of staying physically and mentally healthy even as we age.

I particularly appreciate that the book is based on the author's experiences and fears, making it relatable and practical. The inclusion of relevant quotes in each chapter adds depth to the content. Also, Lana's personal story provides a solid foundation and a clear sense of purpose for the book. The takeaway at the end of each chapter helps summarize the key points discussed, and the questions posed encourage the reader's engagement. The book's discussions are relevant and valid, making it enjoyable to read. The language used is simple and easy to understand.

The only drawback I noticed is that the author occasionally repeats certain subjects unnecessarily, making the book longer than it needs to be.

Despite this minor flaw, the book is professionally edited and deserves a 5 out of 5 stars rating. I believe it will be helpful to women in their late 30s and would recommend it to anyone in that age bracket, including book clubs and fellowships. The subject matter discussed in the book is necessary and relevant, and I commend the author for addressing it.
