Miracle in Kuna is a detailed depiction of the protagonist and author, Max Swank's, life. Max's family moved from Boise to Kuna, where he had several unique experiences. One of these was when he got pinned down by a truck, which inspired the book's title. This sparked his desire to reestablish his relationship with God. The book then goes on to discuss his experiences while recovering, including some humorous situations. It also highlights the author's relationship with his right-hand man, Jerry, as well as the love of his life, Melanie.

This book used fairly simple language, which I thought was acceptable given the target audience. The simplicity of the wording makes it perfect to be read to children as a bedtime story. It contains the kind of suspense that will keep kids interested and may even prompt them to ask questions that will help both parent and child learn more.

I loved how all the chapters in the book were short and had a basic topic that was effectively developed and maintained throughout. It allowed the miracle aspect to be divided into chapters that discussed the cause of the accident, the emergency room, the ICU, and finally recovery. This gradual walkthrough has each component fully explored, allowing for maximum understanding. The miracle was truly miraculous, and reading this book will help you understand why.

This book had its flaws, though. The title made me expect this miracle to be presented in a dramatic way, potentially as the book's main focus. However, it was over in the first half of the book. This led me to conclude that its intention was solely to pique the interest of potential readers, which felt deceptive. I also observed that, even though it discussed many aspects of the author's life, the majority of events are simply glossed over in this book.

Additionally, this novel could bring up something that was the main theme of a later chapter while recounting an incident. When I got to that chapter, it became difficult to place something I had already read about into the timeline. This made concentration a bit difficult at times and made the plot appear disjointed. Finally, I believe this work would benefit from another round of editing because I discovered several sloppy errors. Due to these flaws, I removed two stars from Miracle in Kuna's rating, giving it a 3 out of 5.

Despite its flaws, this was a terrific novel with a great plot that has the potential to be excellent learning material, although it might use some modifications. This book would appeal to children aged 8 to 13, and it could also be read to younger children.

I can understand why you thought the book would include more drama with the title, also the cover photo seems misleading as well with the wand.

The cover photo seems brilliant. Before reading your review I thought this book is probably based on something fantasy related and miracles. Thanks for letting us know the main idea of this book!

I was surprised the book was for kids. The author used a great strategy to get the reader's attention with the book's cover. Mentioning that the book contains the kind of suspense that will keep kids interested is a plus. I appreciate the honesty and clarity of the review. Well done

I'm disappointed the book does not correspond with the cover page and title. I expected some magic. Again, too bad with the flaws. Thanks for the honest review.

"Miracle in Kuna" is a true story that will touch your heart and leave you believing in miracles. In the small town of Kuna, Idaho, life was uneventful until one day when something extraordinary happened. the author was pinned under the tires of a semi-truck, with no hope of survival. As the curtain slowly closed, he believed he was about to die. BUT....
