Book review: Night Road by Kristin Hannah

Post by Anidhya_eb »

Night Road revolves around the bond a mother shares with her children, the bond two girl friends share, the bond a brother and a sister share and the bond two young lovers share.
Lexi and Mia are bound in an inseperable friendship despite being different in many ways. Lexi is an orphan having a dull and difficult life. Mia is blessed with a loving family and a lot of opportunities. Yet they find in each other a string that attaches them both strongly. Mia starts to depend on this friendship extensively which worries her mother, Jude.
Mia's incredibly good-looking brother, Zach, has a lot of friends and fun since his childhood but he shares an eternal love for his twin. Everybody thought he would sail through life easily until he and Lexi fall in love.
After a lot of problems and obstacles, when things finally start working out, the summer of their graduation, of love, friendships, and a promise, they share some unforgettable days, and one unforgettable night. The night that changes the lives of them all. And the latter brings a mixed bag of emotions, sadness, grief, longing, lonliness, nostalgia, anger, guilt. But then things have to work out some day.
This book speaks to women all around the world about things that matter the most. About leaving the grief for the lost ones. About fresh beginnings. And leaves us with a question, "Why do we always hurt those we love the most?"
