I give this book five stars. We can learn many things about "Becoming a top-tier manager should be your number one professional goal" and "How do I become a great manager?"
It is good for all individuals, including new managers and people who are in senior management positions now. We can learn a lot about what leaders must do to lead their teams.

The key to success as a manager is not only about individual achievement but also depends on the success of others and put the teams first. Great managers genuinely care about their team members. Great managers empower their teams to develop professionally. Great managers pay attention to what their teams have to say. Great managers encourage their teams to make decisions and then provide feedback and suggestions for improvement. The great manager should focus on being T.E.A.C.H.E.R., which is Transparent, Empathic, Adaptable, a Clear Communicator, Humble, Empowering, and Responsive.

They must know the situation and be aware of the issue and the opportunity. Sometimes a situation requires patience, and other times it requires urgency. Sometimes it requires forceful action, and other times it requires yielding. Everything is constantly changing and shifting, and every circumstance is unique.

The leadership style must be depends on the situation, so they always be learning, adapting, and adjusting. Setting goals and expectations; prioritizing; delegating; coaching; and providing feedback; and tailoring the leader’s style to fit the needs of the situation. Setting effective goals is crucial for managers to reach their full potential as great managers. By focusing on clear goals, adjusting goals, and ensuring that their team is on the right track, they can achieve success in their role. Control what you can control and stop worrying about the rest.

The role of a manager is more crucial than ever for you to focus a greater portion of your time and attention on how you engage with the people beside and above you. Therefore, to become a manager, you must have sufficient time for "managing laterally" and "managing up". In order to succeed in driving change among the team members, leaders must capture their hearts and minds so they can capture their wallets as well.
Becoming a great leader requires having the skill to run the business well and having good character so they can obtain trust from their team members. People remember you for who you are rather than what you accomplish.
