Kate Gallagher was the first female pilot employed by the Jet East aviation company. Employed only at 21, her employment had brought a lot of press and doubts among the other pilots and the general public; however, she aced every test she was given and proved to everyone that she deserved her spot. In the opening parts of this book, however, a crash seems to jeopardize all she's worked for.

The company Searchlight, which produced the STAR system, a navigation system used by almost all planes in the world, had been getting threatened by an anonymous source about a virus that could interfere with the planes that had this system attached and cause drastic consequences. However, they ignored the threat, and two planes went down, of which one was flown by Kate. The first officer and the general public all blamed her for the issue; even the company she flew for dismissed her. However, Kate maintains that there was something wrong with the gears. Will the secret Searchlight is hiding be revealed? Or will more planes go down for their ignorance? What role will Kate play in stopping this killer virus? I believe there's only one way to find out.

I'd have to begin this review with commendations for the author; it was truly a beautiful piece. I totally enjoyed this book and was literally at the edge of my seat due to the suspense throughout the story. The book was a wittingly drafted thriller, infused with bounds of humor, suspense, mystery, a lot of emotions, and life lessons. The book was written from a third-person perspective, no doubt allowing the audience a cinematic appeal and first-hand experience of the plots as they unwind. The complete knowledge displayed, especially about the aviation sector and planes, reminds you of the author's rich background, having spent forty-four years in and out of cockpits.

This rarely happens, but on the issue of dislikes, I could simply pick out none. My favorite character was Kate; she was so strong that even in the face of all challenges, she remained resilient and loving. This book was professionally edited, as I only spotted two errors. I recommend it to audiences interested in action and crime thrillers, mysteries, and books on aviation.

High Wire by Kam Majd receives a full rating of 5 out of 5 stars from me. I gave it a full rating because it was nothing short of exceptional; it was an engrossing read that would keep the reader hooked until they finished.

This will be an interesting read as it has to do with some technical issues. It reminds me of a book i read some time this year that has to do with space ships. It was an intriguing and interesting read. I'm sure this will be too. Good job!

I can appreciate the unique nature of this plot! This alone makes me want to read it. It is also a bit scary if this is something that is plausible with today's electronic/digital systems! I haven't been reading C/T/M/H novel, but I believe there are lessons to be learnt from them. This is a captivating and mind-hacking read with a compelling review and I long to read this book and see what you've read.
