Marjan’s book “Fasting Firepower” is an easy read with a positive tone. This self-help book was highly informative on the physical and spiritual benefits of fasting. Fasting Firepower motivates people to try fasting, even the skeptics among us. The discussion starts with toxins in our food, air, household products, and water. He speaks of genetically modified organisms and bioengineered meats. The author stresses the need to read food labels, and the need to become familiar with the names of the harmful additives in our food.

In Part I of the book, Marjan explains the diverse types and lengths of fasting. He gives suggestions on how to start fasting one day a week. Explanations of how a fast helps your body cleanse the toxins therein are enlightening. The book discusses different body organs, their functions, and how to cleanse each of those organs. He talks about how to prepare to fast, how to fast, and how to break a fast. He realizes certain medical conditions would prohibit individuals with those conditions from fasting.

Part II of the book focuses on the evidence of Christ and God. He examines how fasting can help us connect with God on a deeper spiritual level. In Part III he illustrates his fasting schedule, and he explains why he adheres to it. His example and enthusiasm are inspiring.

The negative of the book is the discussion on our toxic environment, and how our government and Big Pharma are complacent about it. What I like is the book empowers us to change our environment and the influence it has on our health. The editing of the book ensured almost no errors or misspelled words. I give this book a rating of five out of five. The instructions in Marjan’s book left me feeling in control of influencing my environment, resulting in good health, and how to negate the harmful effects of what is beyond my control.
