Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a much-needed book for people from every generation.

How many times have you thought and planned ahead of time, be it for your work, health, or other goals? Financial planning must have been one of those things you planned in advance, especially regarding your retirement plans and the financial aspect of them.

Reconfigurement tells us about planning ahead, or in advance, the financial needs and financial security for our future at the time of retirement.
The author goes in depth to explain how you can plan, strategize, and devise a proper plan for your financial stability and security in the future.

The author discussed every possible government policy that can help you in different ways to expedite the financial aspect of retirement. The author talks in great detail about the policies regarding 401(K), insurance, social security, investments, Medicare, and more. All of these are discussed in a way for you to understand how you can benefit from these policies and plan ahead, which is the ultimate message of this book, i.e., planning ahead.

There is one specific chapter dedicated to "recess”, or more to different tests available on the internet that can help you understand a lot about yourself, some of which I took myself and was amazed by the results.

Since this book is about finance and financial planning, it could have been a very “dull” book, where the author talks about different things in the most technical language, making it hard for you to understand everything. But the author in this book took a different approach; the writing style is completely conversational, and it feels like the author is someone we know, and he is giving us friendly yet very useful advice.

The writing and the editing are pretty flawless, and I really admire the fact that the author decided to be a friend instead of a financial guru.
This was a 5-star read for me. The reason is not just because of the good things that this book has to offer, but also because it makes you think about the core message of this book, which is planning ahead, which is something we can use in every aspect of our lives.
