The book is a collection of various short stories and each of them explores parts of life that people often forget to consider. It goes from caring about elderly people’s wants and needs to understanding that your life doesn’t end when you get older. The stories take place in a nursing home and we can see a lot of characters interacting and teaching each other about how bright life can be even in the toughest situations.
There were sad stories, happy stories, stuff that can happen to anyone, life itself, humans being humans. Maybe it’s something that everyone knows deep down but reading it can make you feel more at ease with how things happen. Life is not easy but it can be beautiful in the smallest things. Everyone gets old and everyone will go through all of it and the book makes sure to explore each side of the story.
That being said, for future readers, you can expect stories about residents of the nursing home, their families and the staff. I personally rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It’s very well edited and the words are very clear. There's also a lot of details that make it easier to dive into the story. You can see a lot of characters and their individualities which is very important in a good story.
The author explores different points of view, which is very interesting, showing between the stories that there are many people that end up in nursing homes and that there can be countless reasons why they do.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a more carefree reading, with small stories that contain some drama, and some funny moments and reflections about life and people’s emotions, this book is for you. It’s very easy and fun to read, it feels like watching a play in your head.
