E. Alan Fleischauer's book, 'Reconfigurement,' is a self-help and inspirational read focused on the preparation required for retirement. The main theme of the book revolves around the fact that people are living longer than in the past. If you retire at age 65 and live to reach 85, it's essential to have enough money saved up to enjoy life to the fullest. This book covers every step needed to make appropriate arrangements in 13 comprehensive chapters. Topics range from government programs like health insurance and Social Security to financial plans such as income protection, investments, and pensions. The author also delves into career evaluations to ensure you work in a job you enjoy until old age.

I find it commendable that this book addresses such a significant subject in the modern world. Before reading this book, I had never given much thought to what it meant to live beyond retirement, but it sparked my interest to learn more. Concerns about potential despair or financial hardship in retirement led me to contemplate early savings. The author employs a conversational writing style that keeps the reader engaged, addressing day-to-day financial obstacles with insights from his background as a financial advisor. Additionally, he tackles the perennial issue of whether business owners should save for retirement or work until they are much older.

This book has nothing to be disliked. The author has done an excellent job of writing an enjoyable and flawlessly edited book about retirement. The writing is clear, and the author's insights are interesting. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it to everyone who earns money. As many topics in this book are relevant to couples, it's suitable for reading with your significant other. If you've recently started working and feel overwhelmed by financial concerns, or if you're approaching retirement age, this book might be helpful. Remember, it's never too late to learn, so consider reading it even if you fall somewhere in the middle. Identify your strengths and work on areas that need improvement.
