Such a captivating novel. This novel tick all boxes. At first it was slow because I was trying to relate each character to each other. The captivation and interest kicked in after lord Indus took over Hillport and then I realised those Orlin and Meldorath from the previous chapter were actually his predessors. I know by the time i read book 2 i will know how Galen and his white steel comes into play. I cried when Lord Indus died he was such a good man and really cared about the citizens of hill port.
From the novel they still so many things am not clear about. Beth who escaped from caromentine universe how come she landed in prison of Meldorath and he acted like he didnt know much of her world even though he has journal documented to that effect and Why wasn't the king able to kill him if he posses so much danger. Everyone was so scared of him yet the Couldn't find the strongest of mage to execute him.
Am still yet to confirm if lord Orlin accused of paedophilia activities was actually executed as his execution wasn't recorded and if truly he was excecuted waa it without trial as all the children questioned by Lord Indus claimed he didnt molest then Well I guess I will find out more in the next book.
The book is filled up of so much suspense I wonder of the current mainoran eyeing the throne will succeed or he will go for his first love which is writing and storytelling. Also the motives of Rowan the financier is still unclear but as time goes on we will understand him better for now he seems so helpful towards Galen who is still trying to grapsed the new country called voulhire he sees as much better from where he escaped from.

I love how ethereal and magical the book feels. Cant wait to read book 2.
