The Bonding by Imogen Keeper is a sci-fi book about life, love, and fate. Nissa, born on the planet Triannon, is meant to be queen one day. But when Triannon is on the verge of collapse, Nissa, and 99 other Trianni, are hurtled into space in cryo-pods.

She is awoken a time later by Tam, a Captain from the planet Argentus. Tam must save Nissa's life, but the only way he can is with his serum. To give her his serum, he must have sex with her. By sharing his serum with Nissa, Tam Bonds himself to her. This Bond links their lives, their hearts, and their souls.

This book is amazing! It is a great love story, involving action, adventure, and lots of sex. Imogen, or “Immy” (as the author refers to herself), put a warning that the sex scenes were detailed, and BOY, were they detailed! Erotic is definitely a word to use when describing this book.

While the sex scenes are great, the story itself is amazing. Two complete strangers become Bonded together in a twist of fate, and suddenly know more about each other than even their closest friends. Of course, there are troubles involved, but why wouldn't there be? Technically, they don't entirely know each other. The concept is great. It really make the reader think about if that situation could really happen. Imagine being Bonded to someone, potentially forever, always knowing what they're feeling.

I don't know if I would really want that. It's like you'd never really be alone. Sometimes, you just need privacy. However, if I was dying, and that was the only way to save me, I'd be okay with it.

Nissa is a wonderful character. Fear for her planet and her people keeps her moving forward. Tam compliments her well, with his utterly different personality. Their back-stories are put together nicely, making their characters believable. Even though they are aliens, they're so similar to humans, you don't really notice many differences.

The book is the first in a series, which really excites me. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the books! I wasn't prepared for it to be over, so it's nice to know Tam and Nissa's story isn't over yet.

Unfortunately, there are some mistakes in grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. A few times, I was confused as to who was speaking, because the new speaker was connected to the previous paragraph. That could be because I was reading the PDF version, but just to be safe, I think it should be edited again.

Aside from that, I found no issues. The story flows cohesively, the chronology makes sense. All in all, it is an amazing book. I encourage anyone that loves a good sci-fi story, or anyone with a love for erotica, to read this book. I'm giving The Bonding 3 out of 4 stars, based on the editing, but I cannot wait to read book two, The Breaking.
