This book, "Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns about Joy," by J. M. Ashmore, is an interesting children's book that features Crispin the Cricket, Spiker the Spider, Gerry the Grasshopper, and Sully. The story starts as Crispin and Spiker try to learn the meaning of joy. They hoped to apply it to their daily lives at the right time. Did they succeed in their learning quest? You will find out by reading this book.

I learned from this book that, most times, treasure lies in venturing into new areas. For example, if Crispin and Spiker were not courageous enough to explore and locate the peach tree, they would not have had more than enough food to eat.

I learned the power of synergy and diversity in this book. The anthropods featured in this book had unique characteristics that they leveraged to live a happy life. For example, Spiker could make strands, Crispin could make chirping sounds, and Sully could make a beautiful web. Combining their different abilities, they were able to live together.

This book tries to foster joy and happiness in the life of the reader by telling a story that tells us that no matter our condition or inadequacy, we should choose joy and happiness. Amid every storm, if only we can look well, we will find a safe place. I learned some fun facts about the jumping spider and the cricket in this book.

Furthermore, the book's editing was excellent because I spotted no editing errors. Kudos to the editors for a wonderful job well done. In terms of drawbacks, I have none with this book. The book is just 44 pages, and I finished reading it in one sitting. Taking the above into consideration, I would give this book a rating of five out of five stars. I recommend this book to children between the ages of 3-8, as it will serve as a very wonderful bedtime storybook.
