Review of Snatched Up to Heaven!
Jemima and Arvind have always taken delight in things about God and the eternal destination of the redeemed. They have often prayed that God's will may be done in the lives of their children and that their children may always have divine experiences. So it appears like their prayers were answered when their daughters, Priyanka, aged four, and Deepika, aged two, told them about their visits to heaven and hell and their experiences and observations while there. These visits, experiences, and observations are contained in the book Snatched Up to Heaven: Astounding Testimonies of Heaven and Hell from the Mouths of Babes.
There are several things that amazed me while reading this book. I will note two of these here. First, Jemima and Arvind's aim in publishing this book was to bring glory to God and win more souls for Him, and, accordingly, this work came about after much prayer and personal reflection. So I do not think they have any intent to manipulate the public. Second, Jemima and Arvind respected whatever their daughters thought they saw and experienced and didn't attempt to twist their words. That way, the book takes on this shape: the children's experiences and observations are first narrated, followed by what the parents thought about them.
The children's testimonies of heaven and hell sounded convincing to me, especially considering how they matched biblical accounts. It was comforting to read about the children confirming certain things written in the Bible, like the rewards given to the redeemed according to each person's deeds and the excruciating pains, torments, and regrets faced by the damned.
I am impressed by Jemima's thorough analysis of the children's testimonies. Her honesty, desire to place each account in proper context, and references to supporting biblical texts made my time reading this book very memorable. This book is most suitable for Christians, especially those who often find themselves doubting the authenticity of the Bible and God's promises and providence, but it could also help those outside the Christian fold gain a deeper understanding of the triune God and such topics as the afterlife, redemption, and damnation.
I rate Snatched Up to Heaven: Astounding Testimonies of Heaven and Hell from the Mouths of Babes, written by Jemima Paul with Arvind Paul, five out of five stars for the detailed yet simple account of Priyanka and Deepika's supernatural experiences and the error-free text. I didn't dislike anything in the book and found no reason to rate it lower.
