My Trip to Adele, authored by R.I. Alyaseer and A.I. Alyaseer and It is an other fiction book.
My trip to Adele is a book about Elias and Malika, Mariam and Yaser, and Nadia, her son Waleed and her ex-husband, 3 completely different groups of people in 3 different parts of the world people living completely different lives. Their lives are full of drama but in the midst of all the drama they draw strength from Adeles songs.
Elias searches for Milika the girl he has been madly in love with for 8 years. He is originally from morocco but he moves to Rome and he goes to morocco on a vacation where he meets Malika. He instantly gets swept off his feet by her, they become close but his vacation days come to an end so they part ways with the promise that they will meet again at an Adele concert. He holds onto his memories and constantly gets caught up in them, one day he meets a fortune teller who reveals some secrets about him and Malika so he returns to morocco to search for Malika.
Mariam and Yaser and their attempt to rekindle the love in their marriage. Mariam and Yaser are going through a rough patch in their marriage, so they go for marriage counseling. The counselor asks them to recover one memory in which they were both happy. A lot of tension unfolds as they try to do that and Yaser eventually picks one. He picks the memory of the time when he proposed to Mariam using Adele’s “my same’ and in an attempt to fully embrace the moment he plans to take Mariam to an Adele concert.
Nadia and Waleed & her ex-husbands’ influence in her life. Nadia is a strong independent divorced woman who actively fights to defy all odds, including her family elders in a bid to protect her son and take him to Adele’s concert as a birthday present.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because I like the fact that the book is interesting and entertaining. It contains a lot realistic information about different life journeys and It captures a lot of emotions; laughter, happiness, sadness and It has an excitingly unique captivating writing style, which came with the right amount of intrigue and suspense, adrenaline rush and flow to it. But I didn’t like the introductory statement in chapter 25, It seemed like an odd statement to make considering, the fact that the book will be used in the future even after the 25 tour is long gone and at some point the writers got lost in the tenses.
The book would appeal to young adolescents, teenagers, people that like reading fiction books that are factual but still manage to bring out smiles in the process, and new readers who without a doubt would find lasting reasons to be book readers.
The following are the major typos and grammatical errors I noticed:
Page 6 has the word passer-by misspelt. Page 13, the line that says “But I wished my parents could have accompanied us just like as parents did.” Should have the second “as” replaced with “your”. Page 24, the line that says “I had been forced to buy it in installments, and it had taught me that possessing something of value items wasn’t always easy.” Has the words “something and “items” used in the same context which brings repetition in the statement. Page 35, the line that says “You must have lost you mind! You barely know her.” Should have the word “you” replaced with “your”. Page 35, the line that says “when his father was in the country the four of them would spent the whole day together.” should have the word “spent “ replaced with “spend”. Page 74, the line that says “He interrupted me. “Mom, I was in pain but the doctor told me it’ll go away.” The flow of the narration by Nadia in this line contented a mix up of past and present tenses hence the word “was” must be replaced with “am”. Page 80, the line that says ” At Moulay Brahim’s shrine, the more money you paid, the more likely it was that the dilemma would be resolved; either through a customized talisman or through the services” a” girl to fulfill a man’s desire and perhaps to everywhere else.” Should have the word “you” replaced with “of”.
