One does not need to be a fitness freak to enjoy reading this book. For years i have been led to believe that sea salt is a healthier option as compared to table salt. Only to realize that the sodium content is the same and the risks of contracting Diabetes or hypertension are also the same, thanks to Morton E. Tavel the author of this book and a retired physician specialist in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases.

This is a non fiction book that is divided into three parts; Tips, Myths and Tricks. The choice is yours on whether you will read through the whole book or skip to particular topics, the end results will be the same! After reading this book you will discover that exercise will not only help you lose weight but will also make your body more tolerant to pain.

My favorite section was the first one that contains Tips. I immediately changed into my pajamas and hopped into bed once i read about the benefits of getting adequate sleep. I realized just how much disservice i was doing myself by imagining that i could make up for my accumulated work overload at night but not anymore! Let us just say am wiser now thanks to this book.

Many people (I included), overlook the fact that potassium is needed in our diet. We have remained ignorant of the advantages of potassium, we do not even know which foods contain potassium but this book highlights it as a great dietary constituent. The author also went through the trouble of including references at the end of the book so that the readers can confirm the validity of the information given.

Colds, heartburn, premature aging, nasal allergies are problems that have afflicted our society again and again. The book addresses these issues in greater depth. The author also goes on to question 'lie detectors' stating that many innocent people are suffering as a result of these detectors. When in the washroom, would you go for paper towels or hand towels? This book answers these and many more questions.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is because the book requires minor editing. I would highly recommend everyone to read this book, especially those battling with chronic diseases such as Diabetes and the few struggling to lose weight. This book made me appreciate the fact life is about taking time to appreciate myself. This appreciation comes about by watching my lifestyle.

Marylynn,
Great work on your review. I thought table salt and sea salt are the same? Maybe that's because all the salt we consume in my country is from the sea.

In my own country, we consume more of table salt and seem to make a real big deal about sea salt.

Cool.! You have a very nice review. I'm reading this book, too. The tips makes more excited to read it. Salt is really bad to our body.
Reading is an antidote for...
Anger
Burdens
Discouragement
Fears
Hopelessness
Loneliness
Sadness
Tiredness

Yes, salt is a silent killer the sooner we minimize its intake, the better. Hope you too will enjoy reading the book.
