Temptation Trials part 1 by B. Truly is a dystopian romance novel full of heartbreaks and deep passionate love. The aftermath of WWIII has left the world lost in a struggling society trying to rebuild themselves. Now under a world dictatorship ruled by one man the people fight to gain some semblance of the lives they used to have. One of the laws now in place plays havoc on the heart. Once you turn the age of Twenty-One your spouse is chosen for you. Divorce is not allowed and the person you are chosen to be with, like it or not, your married to for the rest of your life.

Cali Nasser and best friend Stefani Ponce know good and well what the future holds in store for them as their Twenty first birthdays approach. As a pact with themselves they keep their hearts guarded fiercely. The idea of falling for someone before that age is an inevitable heartbreak. As their itch to rebel grows they find ways to alleviate by attending illegal parties where they dance their hearts away. Never could they have imagined that they would meet two guys who despite their best efforts captures their hearts. There is no controlling the heart laws or not.

With love flowing in their veins they make the decision to fight for who they love by going on the Temptation Trials…the only chance the new world order gives to be with the one you love. The temptation trails are no joke. They will test these couples mercilessly. In the end it's anyones guess what the outcome will be.

B. Truly did a great job with the characters. They have a good amount of depth to them and the interaction between them is great to read. I did’t see any errors in the book which was great. I did have a hard time getting into the story for the first half of the book. The attention to detail could be a bit more in depth. The switching back and forth between Cali and Stefani while it gave a good perspective to both girls, I would have preferred to only have the narration told from Cali with more details.

I rate Temptation Trials part 1 by B. Truly 2 out of 4 stars. The overall idea of this story was a great one. There seems to be a bit more going on then there appears but you have to wait until part 2 comes out to discover what all is going on. If you are a fan of dystopian romance novels this book is worth the read.
