Layla is hard headed and does not listen to her father's warnings about visiting Dubai. She is kidnapped as a reason of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even in the face of fear she is still worried about Zamir. When she is about to be raped, her knight in shining armour rescues her from the dirty violent dog Mohammed. Cyrus the hero is immediately mesmerized and captivated by her large turquoise eyes and beautiful auburn hair.
The intensity in the book shifts gear here as Cyrus and Layla meet for the first time as he rescues her and they are in the safe house. The sexual chemistry and attraction leave them guessing if they are the only ones with the feelings. Although Layla is not sure, Cyrus, on the other hand, cannot resist her charm. He confides a little bit in her.
Layla’s father, Doctor Wallace is faced with the impossible task of rescuing his daughter or keeping his wife's last dying wish. He resorts to the help of his old time college room mate. So much killing, blood shed, and anxiety but will this be enough to rescue Layla, someone dies, read to find out.
Like all love stories with a painful body, the love between Cyrus and Layla is not without its perils. Will they give in to the attraction and heat, will they finally stop and consider each other and the feelings they have. Will they share a tender moment, my world paused and so will yours.
Escape is a sexy romance novel written by Tema Merback who writes as Belle Ami. Belle for someone with such a busy lifestyle, children, dogs, and horses writes beautifully well. I wonder if it is a dream to her or an actual experience, but i found myself in the pages of the book, lost. Escape was published by the Hartwood Publishing Group and for me, it was like reading an erotic novel.
It took me one day to read this book, simply because i was too hooked to let my eyes off it. The theme of the novel does not just focus on the troubles in the middles east but also on the conflicts that exist between nations, between man. The conflict between Christians and Muslims, country against country and family against family. The end result is hatred and revenge. But amidst all of this fighting and killing love exists and triumphs.
The intimacy part felt almost like watching on a tv screen so get ready for it. This book not only made me aware of the dangers of this world but also to the dangers that women face, not just in the middle east but all over the world. That the first thing a man thinks to do to a woman to hurt her and make her powerless is to force himself on her, to rape her. I’m happy that Layla still remained strong willed and adamant, she didn’t let the challenges get to her and in desperate times she was not weak. Sad as it is, the realities of this world were touched in the book.
I am giving this book a 10/4 simply because i cannot give it a 10/10, and my favourite part was the scene where in all of her forwardness and toughness, i was able to visualise how innocent and womanly Layla was, when she let down her guard and words exchanged between them in that one moment melted my heart.
Finally, i rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The characters were very strong and i identified with Cyrus. Situations felt very realistic and the storyline was very well written, i was a little sad though the way it ended, felt it was abrupt. I would definitely be reading another book from Belle Ami i hope she makes a continuation of this book.
