Review of Break up with him now
[Following is a volunteer review of "Break up with him now" by Lena Lubinka.]
"Break Up With Him Now," written by Lena Lubinka, illustrates a woman's search for love while her father's emotional neglect throws a shadow over her. She longed for a man's love her entire life, after a childhood preoccupation with her father's adoration. She instead experienced astonishment, shame, and pain. The novel compares the protagonist's years of suffering in catastrophic relationships with the idea of receiving affection and comfort from her spouse. Will people eventually love and respect her when she asks for it?
The story is narrated in the third person without naming the character, which adds a degree of universality and relatability.
