Marjan opens our eyes to a wider meaning of a concept we think we already know about in the book "Fasting Firepower: A Guide to Fasting, Detoxification, Natural Healing, and a Mountain Moving Life!" The book begins by discussing the meaning of the word fasting. We are made to understand that fasting could have a clinical definition and a spiritual definition, and the author defines fasting while sharing the purposes of fasting.

I liked the disclaimer provided by the author, as it would guide those of us who may want to totally abandon modern knowledge and medicine to fully rely on the benefits of fasting. The author shared with us an amazing thread discovered during research. This book highlights that great minds like Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, and Michelangelo practiced fasting. I loved the quotes the author included, especially the Bible verses. I saved one of the verses in my notes to read more, as I found it truly inspirational. “We were born to stand out, not to fit in, in our gifting, in our purpose, in our destiny.” Ephesians 3:20.

The author tells us about the effects of both spiritual fasts and clinical fasts. First, he talks about clinical fasts. Topics of interest in today's world, covering bioengineered foods, laboratory-grown livestock, and synthetic meat, are discussed. The author discusses the prevalence of toxins in the world today and the presence of toxins in foods. The author shares their personal experiences after eating food served at the movies. We learn that fasting can help purge our bodies of the harmful substances we consume in today's world.

All aspects of the book were lovable, and I don't feel anything was lacking in delivery or writing, nor did I pinpoint a least favorite thing about the book. We are made to see a link between the behavioral disorders in today's world and the harmful substances we consume. "Fasting Firepower" receives a rating of five out of five stars. I found no errors while reading the book, and there was no reason to rate it lower. It was informative and well-researched, and I look forward to learning more from the links shared by the author.
