The Solution is Political Revolution by Jillion R. Rising is a no-nonsense deep dive into the hot mess that’s been brewing in the U.S. The author’s laid it all out neat and tidy, chapter by chapter, so you can jump right to the good stuff or take it slow and steady from cover to cover. It’s like a treasure map, guiding you through the twists and turns of issues like the 2008 housing meltdown, the ongoing drug saga, the ins and outs of immigration, and the tangled web of identity politics. It’s a mix of social, political, economic, and legal aspects that prompted the author to write this book. The state of the nation today and the not-so-rosy future got them thinking, and this book is what came out of it.

The book offers a thorough analysis of corruption, dissecting it into various forms such as bribery, embezzlement, nepotism, and the exertion of undue influence by individuals in positions of power for personal advantage. It sheds light on the widespread nature of corrupt practices, revealing their presence at every level of governance, from local authorities to the highest federal institutions. The book also tackles the issue of public officials transitioning into the private sector, which often leads to a conflict of interest and a lack of clear accountability. It highlights the need for systemic reforms to address these deep-rooted structural problems, rather than solely focusing on punitive actions against individual offenders.

The book presents an uplifting perspective, not just critiquing the system but also suggesting solutions and explanations. It astutely observes that governments may highlight societal diversity to distract from their own flaws. The inclusion of detailed tables and charts strengthens its case. The notion that collective action can drive change is especially poignant, encouraging readers to embrace new viewpoints and recognize the power of the majority over the few in governance. It’s a call to action, inspiring active participation in shaping our world. I found no dislikes about this book; it is a compelling read, and it is exceptionally well edited.

The book serves as a thought-provoking starting point for discussions on the nation's future. I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. For those with a keen interest in economics, political economy, or the dynamics of social change, this book is a valuable addition to your library. It’s also highly recommended for readers who are passionate about social studies and the mechanisms of societal transformation.
