Review of Embracing Responsibility
Julie Liddell's short book, Embracing Responsibility , is about empowering yourself in the real world. It serves as a manual for individual development, empowerment, and advancement. This book is meant to motivate readers to take charge of their lives and make the right decisions regarding seeing past obstacles and preconceived notions, setting up a personal vision and goals, communicating appropriately, being emotionally cognizant, and/or living a powerful life free from suffering. This is the book for you if you truly want to get better at who you are, what decisions you make, and how those decisions impact your life.
The author talks about how our decisions and deeds impact our lives and how finding balance in them can lead to a more satisfied existence. The book exhorts readers to be their best selves in all facets of life and places a significant emphasis on emotional awareness and responsible communication. Being our best selves can help us live more satisfied lives and be free from regrets because it is the best decision we have ever made. In this brief read, the author covers a wide range of topics, including living an empowered life free from suffering, accepting responsibility, improving oneself, and owning up to our acts. The author also discussed how our increasing technological advancements have thrown off the delicate balance of existence and distanced us from both people and the natural world. I appreciated the author's clear and concise writing style, which allowed her to convey a lot of information in a short book while still finding time to mention well-known figures like Mahatma Gandhi. Quotations from Martin Luther King Jr. and other notable figures were a good touch to bolster the author's views.
After reading this book, I would say that I was greatly inspired, and I now feel completely secure in my ability to make the correct decision, overcome obstacles, and put myself first above all else. I give this book a rating of five out of five stars because I didn't come across any information that would make it less than five stars. I found this book to be easy to read and packed with information; I also didn't find any obvious mistakes in it. Anyone who wants to become more independent, learn how to prioritize their needs, and make wise decisions should read this book, in my opinion.
