Catrin, a Celtic princess, is deeply committed to her royal duties, prioritizing the well-being and security of her people above all else. With unwavering dedication, she defies the king's warnings to avoid dangerous magic, determined to safeguard her kingdom. However, when she unexpectedly falls deeply in love with a rival, her loyalty is tested, and her world is turned upside down. Now, Catrin must confront a difficult decision: will she choose to fulfill her royal obligations or follow her heart's desire, potentially risking everything she holds dear?

This book is a spellbinding fusion of historical fiction, romance, and fantasy. The narrative unfolds at a gripping pace, making it unputdownable. Linnea Tanner masterfully weaves together multiple perspectives, expertly exploring the thoughts and motivations of various characters while maintaining Catrin as the central figure. The story seamlessly integrates diverse themes, using dialogue to convey vital information and reveal the characters' thoughts and intentions. While romance and fantasy elements take center stage, the story also talks about the darker aspects of magic and supernatural beliefs in ancient times, adding depth and complexity to this captivating tale.

The standout aspect of Apollo's Raven for me was its fierce and dynamic heroine, who masterfully navigates the complexities of her royal status and personal autonomy. She shows a remarkable ability to honor her responsibilities while also asserting her intelligence and agency, never shying away from challenges. I was equally captivated by the richly detailed portrayal of ancient Celtic culture, brought to life through vibrant descriptions of lavish feasts, fearless warriors, and the rugged beauty of the land. This book had no drawbacks at all.

This book was a masterpiece, with impeccable writing and a clear absence of errors, indicating top-notch editing. The characters were expertly developed, and the story laid a fantastic foundation for the series, striking a perfect balance between suspense and intrigue. I'm impressed enough to award it a resounding 5 out of 5-star rating. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves historical fiction, romance, and thrilling adventures.
